Maple Leaf’s 40 Steps to Food Safety

At Maple Leaf, our proprietary 40 Steps to Food Safety is the measure by which we set higher operational standards for ourselves in all areas that touch on food safety, from the purchase of raw materials to processing, packaging and distribution. This process is audited by an independent third party company to ensure consistency and lack of bias. The process includes all aspects of the production process including manufacturing, transportation and warehousing and addresses the following areas:

·         Our people – leadership, accountability, training and development

·          Our facilities – setting the highest standards in cleanliness and safety

·         Our management systems – world class technology to enable efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring excellent tracking.

·         Data management – ensure we have the information in place to help us continually improve

·         Validation and Product Testing – we set the highest standards for ourselves and ensure we are meeting them
