Recognizing that you are unique and have your own career aspirations, the MT Program gives you the freedom to customize your experience. We offer a General Management stream or you can specialize in Manufacturing, Finance or Supply Chain/Logistics. When applying, candidates must identify their choice of General Management, Manufacturing, Finance or Supply Chain. For those interested in building a career in sales or marketing, General Management is the best choice as cross-functional experience is extremely valued for this career path. GENERAL MANAGEMENTGeneral Management MTs rotate through three different job placements, each for one year, allowing you to explore multiple functions and gain a broad understanding of business. MTs have worked in roles including Assistant Marketing Manager, Financial Analyst, Sales Territory Manager, Production Supervisor and Six Sigma Analyst. Each MT is heavily involved in building their three years of the program and selecting the functional experiences. MANUFACTURING / OPERATIONSAs a manufacturing company, Maple Leaf strives to develop future plant managers and operations leaders. Operations MTs work in three one-year placements with two of the rotations in Production Supervision and a third in an operations-related area such as Engineering, Maintenance, or Quality. During the program, Operations MTs work in challenging roles to build manufacturing and business expertise and progress towards future roles leading our operations. FINANCE / ACCOUNTINGFinance MTs spend each of the three years rotating among roles focusing on Finance and Accounting. Rotations may include Risk Management, Financial Planning and Budgeting, Category Finance and Compliance. Finance MTs are encouraged to spend one rotation in another function such as operations or sales to better understand the role of finance across the business. The CMA and CGA designations are important to finance professionals. Maple Leaf will support your efforts to obtain one of these designations. Finance MTs develop a strong foundation in finance and business, preparing you to take on significant leadership responsibility. SUPPLY CHAIN / LOGISTICSSupply Chain MTs build a core understanding of this function by rotating among year-long placements which could include roles in purchasing and managing strategic customer alliances, supply chain planning, inventory management, logistics, transportation and shipping. The efficient movement of goods through the company is becoming even more critical to our competitive edge and strong customer relationships. Supply Chain MTs acquire significant expertise and develop into leaders who have a direct impact on the business. Following the three years of the program, successful MTs graduate into roles at Maple Leaf where you continue to grow your career. We continue to have proven success with graduates moving into significant management roles within Maple Leaf Foods. |
